Dr. Nayeli Salazar de Noguera is an EIA Fellow housed in the Department of Health and Human Performance, College of Health Professions and Human Services. Dr. Salazar de Noguera holds a joint doctoral degree from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, and the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) in Urban Health Systems. She has a Master of Arts in Translation and Interpretation
(Spanish and English) from
La Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara (in Mexico) and a Bachelor of Arts in Medical Translation and Interpretation (Spanish and English) and Sociology from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. Dr. Salazar de Noguera has functioned as Project Specialist for the United States Senate; Consultant to the Government of Puebla, Mexico; Consultant to the Mexican General Consulate in NYC; Senior Executive Associate for the Dean of the Rutgers School of Nursing; Program Management Officer for the New Jersey Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention; and was a State Fellow for New Jersey's Office of the Governor, Office of Communications. Dr. Salazar de Noguera was born in Mexico City and resides in the City of Newark. Dr. Salazar de Noguera’s program of research includes global urban migration, U.S. acculturation, demographic shifts, health system access and utilization, and mental health and wellbeing for racial/ethnic minority groups. She is committed to designing mixed method studies that produce longitudinal data and diverse, equitable and inclusive health interventions and programs.
