Welcome to ICUH 2024!
Wednesday November 20, 2024 12:00 - 13:00 GMT+01
This interactive workshop will engage stakeholders and potential investors in the development and growth of the City Know-how (CKH) platform. The CKH platform is a collaborative effort by the Cities & Health Journal, Building Health Lab (BHL), and the International Society for Urban Health (ISUH). CKHs are innovative, de-jargonized blog posts accompanying each research article in the Cities & Health Journal, serving as illustrated and extended abstracts. These posts are freely accessible and designed to engage a broader, non-academic audience, including policymakers, practitioners, and communities.

The workshop is divided into three sessions:

Session 1 will provide an overview of the CKHs initiative and the importance of accessible research in urban health. A live tour of the CKH platform will highlight key features such as filters for exploring Know-how articles, a geographic map for location-based searches, search and indexing capabilities, and an upcoming publishing application. Insights into the platform's impact and user engagement will be shared, supported by feedback and case studies from its MVP launch at ICUH 2023 in Atlanta.

Session 2 will present detailed plans for the platform's future development, focusing on evolving from the MVP to a Minimum Marketable Release (MMR). The MMR aims to inform urban development through a project cycle: Research, Planning, Design, and Policy. Planned enhancements include API integrations with relevant sources, enhanced search capabilities, content quality and management tools, user engagement features, scalability and security upgrades, mobile optimization, and marketing strategies. The benefits for stakeholders will be outlined.

Session 3 will focus on stakeholder discussions and investment opportunities. Discussions will address concerns and interests from Session 2, including brainstorming for additional features and improvements, and exploring contributions beyond financial support, such as strategic partnerships or expertise. An overview of funding sources and strategies will be presented, highlighting clear investment opportunities, specific funding needs, and expected outcomes. Next steps for interested stakeholders will also be provided.

This workshop aims to engage a diverse audience, inviting them to invest in and support the platform's growth, ensuring its continued impact in bridging the gap between research and practice in urban health.
